‘Animal Crossing: New Horizon’ Adds Fireworks & Island Visits

With Animal Crossing: New Horizon coming out earlier this year, many flocked to GameStop and the Nintendo Store for a good dose of relaxing nostalgia. The game has updated twice now and in early July they upset many fans, including content creators, by patching a glitch in the game where you can remove your HUD and still continue to play. This glitch was a good way for YouTube gamers to get good, clean footage of the game, and many were miffed that the developers decided to remove it.

Games like Animal Crossing have a long shelf life being that you can put 100 hours of playtime into it and still not be close to doing everything possible within the game. That being said it is important for games to evolve over time if they want to keep their communities attention. These fireworks and island visiting add new fun wrinkled into a game and can easily add another 50 or so hours of playtime. Although Nintendo has been hit and miss especially with their Switch content it is encouraging that they have recognized how important Animal Crossing is to them maintaining a good customer base and myself along with many other loyal players can’t wait to see what they add to the game next.
