Arcade stalwarts Bub and Bob are coming out of their hiatus in Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, a Nintendo Switch-exclusive sequel to the classic series. As with the 80s installments, players can play by themselves or with a friend. This iteration, however, includes a four-player co-op mode, a first for the puzzle series.
Hiroshi Uemura, the executive officer and division manager of development over at Taito, had this to say about the forthcoming Bubble Bobble revival:
“Bubble Bobble is an extremely popular title in Europe, so we decided to implement a pre-sale in Europe in conjunction with ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games. It is also the first internally developed title since Taito has re-entered the consumer market, and the development team is thrilled to be working on this famous IP. I deeply hope that many people will enjoy it.”
Europe will also score Bubble Bobble 4 Friends on November 19, 2019, whereas the United States will procure the retro revival sometime in Q1 2020.
