‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Issues Further Addressed In Patch 1.23

CD Projekt Red recently delivered patch 1.23 for Cyberpunk 2077. The patch affects PC and consoles, mainly looking to liberate the game from its various bugs.

This continues CD Projekt Red’s efforts to improve the game on Xbox One and Playstation 4. Patch 1.23 will also remedy certain quest issues. According to CD Projekt Red’s notes on the patch, 1.23 contains “numerous crash fixes in animations, UI, scene physics and gameplay systems” along with “various CPU optimizations.”

CD Projekt Red provided a detailed list of the issues that were remedied along with where they occurred. For example, an issue where V got stuck in the AV on the “path of glory” mission was remedied. Gameplay issues were also remedied. These include fixing “an issue where after killing a NPC and stealing their car, their body could get stuck in the car” and “an issue where dropping an NPC’s body caused too much destruction.” Visual fixes were also made to the badlands, NPC’s clothes and Johnny Silverhand’s “spectral form.” There were also PC-specific and Xbox-specific fixes, focusing on fixing UI, resolution and launching issues. The full patch notes were posted to Cyberpunk.net.

The patch came just days before Cyberpunk’s return to the PlayStation Store on June 21.

Cyberpunk was removed from the PlayStation store 10 days after its launch due to horrendous bugs and gameplay issues. Sony claimed they made this move because the company “strives to ensure a high level of satisfaction.” Sony additionally offered refunds to those who purchased the digital copy from the PlayStation store.

Marcin Iwiński, the founder of CD Projekt (CD Projekt Red’s parent company), admitted that “we should have paid more attention to making it play better on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.” Iwiński promised to remedy the issues and make the game playable on these consoles. This patch seems to be a further step in that direction, as the game is officially available again in the PlayStation Store.
