Ahead of its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has received critical acclaim. Currently, the game sits at a 90 on Metacritic for the PC version of the game. However, the biggest criticism that many fans had with it was the numerous bugs and glitches that took them out of the experience. It should be noted that all reviews for the game have been for the PC version, with reviewers not receiving review codes for the console versions of the game. Additionally, reviewers were only allowed to use gameplay footage provided by CD Projekt Red.
While many big open-world RPG’s are known for having bugs and glitches at launch, PS4 and Xbox One owners have been experiencing far worse on their system of choice. Over on social media platforms like Twitter and message boards like Reddit, thousands of fans have been venting their frustration over the recently released game.
Most users have been reporting the console version of Cyberpunk 2077 runs at around 720p on base PS4 and Xbox One and suffers from inexcusable bugs. Some of the technical problems include low NPC count in large areas, textures taking forever to load in with character models looking like they came from the PS2 era of gaming and poor performance across the board.
All of these issues make Cyberpunk 2077 on base systems unplayable, with even the PS4 Pro and Xbox Series X having trouble running the game. It seems like the only way to play Cyberpunk 2077 is on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
To say that Cyberpunk’s launch on consoles has been a disaster is putting it lightly. Cyberpunk 2077 is out on all major platforms, but it’s recommended you wait a while to purchase it if you don’t own a next-gen system.
