Monster Hunter World
After Nintendo presented a Mario-focused Nintendo Direct earlier this month, you’d think that would be it for a while. But, last week, Nintendo released another of its Nintendo Direct Mini. If you’re expecting the company to reveal some of their upcoming exclusives, you were disappointed. This Mini Direct was squarely focused on third-party publishers.
Kicking off the Direct was the announcement of two new Monster Hunter Games, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2 (a sequel to the 3DS RPG). The former will launch on March 26, 2021, while the latter will launch sometime in Summer 2021. In another surprise from Nintendo, a follow up direct was launched mere minutes after their Mini Direct, focusing on the upcoming Monster Hunter games.
Other games announced during the Direct included Fitness Boxing 2 (December 4th), Disgaea 6 (Summer 2021), an exclusive look at Balan Wonderworld (March 26, 2021) and Rune Factory 5 (2021). Finally, Nintendo also revealed that Ori and the Will of the Wisps is now available for Nintendo Switch, after launching on Xbox One and PC earlier this year.
Prior to this, a Nintendo Direct for third-party publishers was released in late August. Games that were shown off in that direct included Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, World of Tanks: Blitz, Just Dance 2021 and much more.
