Dragon Ball FighterZ hosts a diverse roster of heroes and villains hailing from the various Dragon Ball manga and anime publications, but the often maligned Dragon Ball GT is one realm that’s been ignored thus far. That’s soon to change, however, as Bandai Namco is looking towards GT for the second FighterZ Pass’s next challenger, and it’s Goku!
Of course, there isn’t a shortage of Gokus amongst the roster – he is the franchise’s lead, it makes sense he’d appear a few times over – but this Goku will prove to be one of the more visually unique ones. GT‘s Goku was regressed back to a child due to a misguided wish on the Black Star Dragon Balls, and this is how he spent the majority of the series. However, FighterZ‘s take on kid Goku melds elements of his Dragon Ball and GT incarnations together, incorporating the iconic Power Pole into his moveset.
GT Goku, as with his adult Super Saiyan counterpart, utilizes a Super Saiyan 3 Kamehameha Super, but the real treat is seeing him bust out the Super Saiyan 4 form. Within GT‘s fiction, the red-haired powerup dramatically increases Goku’s power so thoroughly that it overrides Ultimate Shenron’s curse, transforming him back into adulthood. Previous screenshots also depict the younger Goku using the Spirit Bomb, calling back to his conclusive battle against Omega Shenron.
Goku (GT)’s trailer can be seen below, giving a glimpse his fighting capabilities.
