‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Leaks & Rumors Run Amok Online – What Do We Know Now?

While it has been rumored by an ex-employee to have been in production since 2015, it has been over a year and a half since Grand Theft Auto 6 was confirmed on social media. Even with a 2024 release being likely, we have yet to see any official reveal of the game.

“We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details,” said Rockstar Games via social media. “On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!”

Rockstar Games has seemingly tried to keep a cap on what has spilled, but a fair amount of leaks and unofficial rumors have come to the surface. Much of the information centers around gameplay, characters and useable platforms.

Thanks to these, the gaming community has a lot more data points.

As far as the game itself is concerned, one of the bigger things that is rumored is the fictional city gamers will be let loose for fun. It is looking likely that we are going back to The Sunshine State to check in on Vice City and possibly much more.

For those wondering when the game will take place, there may be an interesting answer. Online rumors indicate that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not only have multiple locations but also multiple timeframes! Although, with only two protagonists likely it may be worth holding your breath on that one.

With the budget unofficially revealed to be in the $1 to $2 billion range, it far surpasses Grand Theft Auto 5’s budget of $265 million. With an estimated intake of $8 billion from their latest title alone, Grand Theft Auto 6 will likely have a lot of green to feed on.

Of course, Rockstar Games has yet to really confirm any of this but with the information out they might need to wait until the time is right.
