After its release in 2022, Rockstar Game’s GTA+ subscription service has hosted several games previously released by the studio within their massively successful title, Grand Theft Auto V, which continues to be one of their best-selling games despite launching over a decade ago in 2013. While it had first been released to introduce new in-game benefits for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, in October 2023, they had started to have the subscription include older games from their library to be available to play in rotation within the base GTA V game.
At first, it was the older GTA franchise titles. However, Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare this past month on the service, shocking fans. On April 2, the studio announced the addition of the games to the service and advertised other benefits included in GTA+.
The complimentary benefits for players with the membership include receiving monthly payments of $500,000 in-game currency and access to The Vinewood Club, where they can store up to 100 vehicles in their garage. The club also offers monthly deals where players can receive vehicles for lower in-game prices or for free, depending on the event.
The service is currently running a “GTA$ Bonus Event” where players can receive a bonus of $1,000,000 alongside their $500,000 payments of in-game currency with the “Progen Itali GTB” vehicle being free with the Vinewood Club. From the subscription service’s store page, the event lasts until May 1 of this year.
Although many gamers have been critical of live services being introduced to the GTA franchise, some have stated that Rockstar is generous for charging GTA+ only $5.99 a month. In their announcement post earlier this month, Rockstar also mentioned their intentions of adding titles like Bully and L.A. Noire to the list of games available with the service.
