‘Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’ Ships 3 Million Copies

The latest game in The Legend of Zelda franchise, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, has reached a major milestone. Within the first four days after its release, Age of Calamity has shipped more than three million copies worldwide. The announcement was first unveiled by the official Japanese Twitter account, Zelda Muso. Dualshockers was able to translate the Tweet and it reads as follows: “The cumulative worldwide shipments for Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity has exceeded 3 million copies. Our deepest thanks to everyone. The trial version is still available, so please try the game out if the occasion presents itself.”

It was also reported by French journalist and sales specialist Oscar Lemaire that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the best selling Muso game of all time. For those who aren’t in the know, Muso is a genre of action game where one-player goes up against an army of thousands of enemies, which is an extremely popular genre of games in Japan. Age of Calamity’s developer, Omega Force, is best known for this with their Dynasty Warriors series. Judging by this achievement, it’s safe to assume that Age of Calamity will go on to outsell its predecessor, the original Hyrule Warriors that was released on Wii U before being ported to the Nintendo Switch.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is now available on Nintendo Switch.
