A superhero fighting game that lets players finally play as their favorite Invincible characters is finally here. Open beta has wrapped up for Invincible VS with the launch date of April 30, 2026, just right around the corner. Early signs look promising.
The Invincible VS open beta ran from April 9 at 10:00 a.m. PST to April 11 at 9:00 p.m. PST, featuring ten playable characters with three different modes: Tutorial, Practice and Ranked. This was only available to console players with crossplay enabled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
The game’s roster has many playable characters such as Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Bulletproof, Thula, Rex Splode, Battle Beast, Omni-Man, Robot, Monster Girl and Allen the Alien. As for gameplay, it maintains the chaotic tone of the original series. When fighting, you have a real mess on your hands – fighters become covered in their own blood over time, clothes get torn off, teeth get knocked out, and if you finish a fighter using a super move, they will fly apart like Mortal Kombat.
According to Gaming Nexus, the game offers both new-school, one-button, modern-style controls and old-school classic motion-control options. This makes the game friendly enough for people new to fighting games while offering a high level of complexity for fans.
Rage-quitting was a real problem during the beta, but developers addressed it quickly. Quarter Up stated that it is implementing cooldown penalties for frequent disconnects. “If you’re reading this and were guilty of a rage quit or two during the beta… we get it. Ranked was the system we most needed to stress test,” Executive Producer Mike Willette wrote in the official beta recap.
Players who played the beta are already receiving an award for their time. Every player who played the beta will receive a free Omni-Man skin. Also, the top 20-ranked players will have their names featured in the game’s credits.
Invincible VS launches April 30, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. With pre-orders available now and the hype surrounding the beta, what are you waiting for?
