‘Kings Bounty 2’: New Gameplay Trailer Released

A new six-minute trailer for King’s Bounty 2 was recently dropped via IGN’s YouTube channel. This trailer gives additional insight into gameplay mechanics for the upcoming title.

King’s Bounty 2 is a roleplaying game that employs turn-based combat and tactics. 1C Entertainment is in charge of development, and Prime Matter is the publisher for the title. King’s Bounty 2 is the successor to the original King’s Bounty from 1990.

The trailer first introduces ‘Nostria,’ the location in which the game is set. “You will uncover glittering treasure, dark secrets and fantastic adventure,” it says.

Three main playable characters are available, and each of these characters has its own class. Aivar is a warrior.  Katharine is a mage, and Elisa acts as a paladin. Players can adjust their skills, attributes and talents after selecting a character.

Next, gameplay mechanics and strategies are highlighted. The trailer touts the multiple possible courses of action that can be taken. “Consider your positioning, terrain, environmental hazards and obstacles,” the trailer states concerning to battle tactics.

“The first move goes to whoever has the highest initiative, sometimes influenced by other characteristics” the trailer describes.

There will also be a book of spells with four different types of magic. The ability to customize your army and player is also ever-present in the game.

The trailer also highlights that multiple different paths can be taken to achieve your goals during quests. “A rash decision can lead to messy consequences,” it states, warning that an aggressive approach will not always prevail.

“Diplomacy is often an option, but be mindful when choosing sides,” the trailer explains. “A number of factions exist in the title, but it is impossible to gain favor with all of them.”

King’s Bounty 2 was first announced on August 14, 2019. Soon, Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One were revealed as supported platforms. Nintendo announced a Nintendo Switch version on March 26 of 2020.

King’s Bounty 2 will be released on August 24,  2021. The title is available for pre-order currently with options for digital and physical copies for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Both of these versions retail for $59.99. The digital copy includes a variety of pre-order exclusive downloadable content. There is also a $64.99 Lords Edition available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One which includes additional weapons, armor and customization options.
