The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Switch by Grezzo (Nintendo)
Since their 2011 Ocarina of Time and Four Swords revamps, third-party studio Grezzo has become a name of pertinence to Zelda fans. Their latest contribution to The Legend of Zelda‘s legacy – the Switch’s beautiful Link’s Awakening remake that hit stores today – is likely their biggest yet. In commemoration of the game’s launch, Grezzo updated their site’s aesthetics and published a message expressing the team’s gratitude and excitement. NintendoSoup kindly translated their heartfelt address, which can be read below:
Today is the day The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening finally launches!
Congratulations!!!
I have really, really looked forward to this day. My feelings swelled when the articles were published online and on magazines, commercials started to broadcast on TV, and the posters went up at the train stations. Before I was able to “master up”, I felt so much tension and fatigue, but all of that was blown away thanks to our successful launch. I’m also looking forward to how everyone feels while they play the game.
During the development of Link’s Awakening, the people who were emotionally attached to the original game, people who played the series but are playing Link’s Awakening for the first time, and the people who have never played a Legend of Zelda game and are playing Link’s Awakening for the first time all had a part to play in the development of this game. We have successfully brought the good aspects and nostalgia of the original game to the Link’s Awakening remake while making it easier to play, giving it a fresh breath of air. I feel both the old and new aspects are co-existing very well. It would be interesting to see parents and children playing this game together.
I present a toast to everyone!
Last but not least, I would like to thank the folks at Nintendo for their huge assistance. No words can express my gratitude. I will present my gratitude again another time. Thank you from my heart.
