‘Marvel’s Avengers’ – Update Allows Multiple Players To Control Same Hero

Marvel’s Avengers recently announced that players will now be able to control any hero they want, even if another teammate has selected the same hero.

This change, set to take effect in a July update, was announced by developers Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics in a blog post titled “Roadmap Update for July.” The post stated that: “Finally, due to your feedback, we’re permanently turning on the ability to play multiple of the same hero during matchmaking and when forming Strike Teams. Tachyon energy in the world has reached a level where the hero selection is always similar to the Tachyon Anomaly Event.”

This feature was first seen in the limited-time Tachyon Anomaly event, which ran from April 22 to May 3. This meant that players could compose their four-hero team in any way they chose, even allowing for four copies of the same hero. Players gave such positive feedback regarding the event that Crystal Dynamics chose to make this a continuing feature in the game.

The company also shared other upcoming changes to the game, including the first “Omega Level Threat” called “Family Reunion.”

“Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion will be our toughest content to date when it releases in July, which culminates in a chaotic fight against the Super-Adaptoid – this time, with astonishing new abilities,” stated the game developers in the post.

The post also explained that multiplayer mega hives will “see an increase in difficulty, but will take less time to complete due to cutting the number of Heroic Gauntlets required in half (from eight to four).”

Patrol Mode will be “moved past the war for Wakanda Expansion,” the developers also announced.

Marvel’s Avengers and Crystal Dynamics make these changes as they prepare for the release of the “War for Wakanda” expansion. The game’s development team has additionally stated that the expansion is “unaffected and is still slated to release in August.”
