New Trademark By EA Suggests The Next ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ Game’s Called ‘Battle for Neighborville’

PopCap Games, one of the many studios under EA’s charge, is known for developing lighthearted games players of all skill levels can enjoy. One of PopCap’s bigger properties is Plants vs. Zombies, which has a new installment due for release by April 2020. Specifically, this title will be the third entry in the Garden Warfare sub-series.

A recent trademark filing by EA suggests its name might be “Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville,” as first reported by Gematsu. Notably, Neighborville is the setting of the Plants vs. Zombies comic. An untitled Garden Warfare game codenamed “Picnic” recently entered its testing phase, which select players participated in. While possibly unrelated to the Neighborville trademark, it’s expected that they’re the same project.

In related news, PopCap is currently spearheading a proper Plants vs. Zombies 3 for smartphones, which was announced last month.
