Rockstar’s $400 ‘GTA VI’ Collector’s Set Doesn’t Include the Game Itself

Rockstar Games has unveiled a $400 collector’s set tied to the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI — but fans hoping to unbox a copy of the highly anticipated game with it will be disappointed, since the set doesn’t include the game.

The set, titled Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, instead includes 11 pieces of merchandise inspired by Macca the Gator, a fictional TV show that appears in the game’s world. The collection is themed around Leonida, GTA VI’s version of Florida, and Vice City, the game’s signature setting.

Items in the box include a Macca the Gator figure with a hidden stash compartment built into its base, a pair of matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTA VI logo, a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat embroidered with Leonida imagery, and a crossbody bag called the “Leonida Keys.”

Smaller items round out the set, including a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Vice City-branded swizzle spoon, a razor-blade-shaped keychain with embossed GTA VI and Vice City logos, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, an enamel pin set packaged in a custom metal tin, a sheet of premium stickers in a stash bag, and a double-sided souvenir poster showing the full Leonida landscape.

The set is available for pre-order now through Rockstar’s online store and is scheduled to arrive November 19, timed to coincide with the digital release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Buyers will still need to purchase the game itself separately, on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, since it is sold independently of the merchandise box.

The announcement comes as anticipation continues to build for one of the most closely watched video game releases in years. Grand Theft Auto VI has been the subject of near-constant speculation and reporting since its existence was confirmed, with fans and outlets tracking everything from its in-game soundtrack to details about its setting and characters as Rockstar has gradually revealed more information ahead of launch.

While $400 collector’s editions are not unheard of in the gaming industry, the absence of the actual game from a set carrying the franchise’s name is likely to draw attention from fans weighing whether the merchandise justifies the price on its own, separate from the cost of the game itself.
