After releasing early on January 29, Rocksteady Studio’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had been released with mixed reviews. Although many found its narrative to be fun, the gameplay had felt boring and overdone for gamers.
Alongside this early launch, the game was briefly turned offline for players due to a massive bug where it displayed the game’s story as being complete upon loading. Within hours of this bug’s discovery, the studio had announced the temporary shutdown on a post from the game’s official X account.
While the servers were down, many gamers criticized Rocksteady for not having an offline mode to the game, as while they were fixing the bugs, players were not allowed to play the game they paid for. As the servers were reopening, the studio gave free in-game currency to players affected by this opening day error.
This is not the end of the new Suicide Squad‘s issues with game-breaking bugs. Earlier this week, Rocksteady announced in the game’s official Discord server that they will be resetting the game’s leaderboards in an upcoming patch to the game due to a bug in one of the game’s builds named “Burn.” As the player’s “Mastery Levels” had risen, the damage Burn could do on enemies would also increase, leading to a major imbalance in the game’s level scaling. This upcoming fix will make leveling up this build much more difficult but will wipe the current boards for the game in the process.
With these two bugs, players and critics had felt very lukewarm about the title. Many fans enjoyed seeing their favorite DC Comics characters interact with one another in this alternative world of the main universe but cannot get into the gameplay with some saying that they had expected more advancements in design after the previous Arkham series titles.
The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows platforms on their respective stores.
