Silent Hills
Composer for the Silent Hill series, Akira Yamaoka, hinted at the possibility of a new Silent Hill game in the works during an interview that was quickly pulled after airing.
Yamaoka spoke to the Youtube channel AL HUB to talk about the composer’s upcoming plans. Yamaoka worked on the recent game from Bloober Team, ‘The Medium,’ and when asked what future projects he has planned, he said further announcements would happen this summer. “I think it’s the one you’re kind of hoping to hear about,” he added. Many believe Yamaoka is hinting at the highly-rumored Silent Hill revival.
Yamaoka’s statement quickly gained traction and led many Silent Hill series fans to rejoice the return of the long-gone horror series. However, AL HUB, wrote soon after in a statement that they were asked to take down the interview as a whole. AL HUB did not specify who asked them to take down the interview.
Removing the interview only furthered fan theories that the unrevealed project was the return of the Silent Hill series.
Fans quickly speculated that the series’ owner, Konami, likely requested the take-down and started asking on Twitter why the interview was removed. A Konami spokesperson told VideoGamer that “Konami did not ask Al Hub to take down the interview.”
