The 10 Best Announcements From Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest 2024 has come to a close. The weekend-long event was host to a slew of new titles and trailers for previously unveiled games and was packed to the brim with excitement for what the future of gaming holds. Dozens of games were shown at the event, but here are the highlights gamers have to look forward to coming soon.

Lego Horizon Adventures

This title has been rumored for months leading up to Summer Game Fest. The Horizon series is one of Sony’s premier franchises, and now it is getting the Lego treatment this Holiday season. It was also revealed that this title would not be a PlayStation exclusive. Lego Horizon Adventures will be coming to PC, Nintendo Switch and PS5.

Quidditch Champions

After the success of last year’s Hogwarts Legacy, the next Harry Potter game will focus on the fictional sport of Quidditch. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions launches for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox on September 3, later this year.

No More Room in Hell 2

This brand-new zombie FPS is coming to Early Access this Halloween. Full of over-the-top dismemberment mechanics, this eight-player co-op game will surely scratch that zombie itch.

Civilization VII

The next installment in the Civilization franchise was revealed to be coming to PC and Consoles in 2025. No gameplay was shown, but developer Firaxis announced that a gameplay showcase would be held in August later this year.

Batman: Arkham Shadow

This Meta Quest 3 exclusive was finally shown off during the Summer Game Fest. In this VR title, players will become Batman in the Universe of the critically acclaimed Arkham games.

Blumhouse Games

Famed horror movie studio Blumhouse is breaking into gaming with its new publishing studio, Blumhouse Games. The publisher announced six new indie horror games from studios, including Eyes Out, Half Mermaid, Cozy Game Pals, Perfect Garbage, PlayMe Studio and Vermilla. The first of these titles is  Fear the Spotlight, and more will be released soon.

Skate

EA’s Skate franchise makes its triumphant return. Players can sign up for playtests for the game that begins in the Fall.

Valorant

The popular shooter from Riot Games is coming to PS5 and Xbox shortly. A limited beta test will kick off on June 14.

Dune: Awakening

The Dune MMO was showcased at Summer Game Fest. Although no gameplay was shown, its cinematic trailer gave players insight into the game’s story. Dune: Awakening will be showcased more at Gamescom this August.

Wanderstop

The next game from the mind behind The Stanley Parable was announced. A play on the cozy game genre, Wanderstop will be released for PC and PS5 later this year.
