‘The Batman Part II’ Delayed, But Why?

Fans have been left wondering about delays pushing The Batman Part II release until October 2026. Some think that this is to make it closer to a string of other films down the line. However, the move could cause confusion between DCU Batman and DCEU The Batman.

The DCEU encompasses stories of superhero characters across the DC multiverse. These movies include The Joker, The Batman and The Batman Part II.

Meanwhile, the main DCU includes films like The Flash, upcoming Superman and The Brave and The Bold. Warner Bros hasn’t even hired a writer or crew for The Brave and The Bold. What’s more is that one delay is likely to cause another with The Brave and The Bold.

Other rumors about the delay included speculation on how last year’s entertainment strikes might have impacted this delay. Jeff Sneider’s post on X seems to have squashed this rumor, saying he’d heard that while the strike didn’t help, ultimately it was the lack of stages that caused the delay.

Warner Bros has promised not to leave Batman behind, but their actions seem to indicate otherwise.

Delays for Batman movies anywhere in DC have become almost expected. Meanwhile, obvious golden child Superman has a release date which hasn’t been affected at all.

To make matters worse, fans have been left in the dark regarding to The Batman Part II story and who the big bad is. This isn’t a first for Warner Bros which also delayed The Batman. It proved to be the most successful DC movie overall and second most successful movie released during the pandemic.

It stands to reason that further delays will only hurt them in the long run, leaving expectant fans waiting and resigned. Reports of those involved in the filming are happy about this delay. To me, this seem a little hollow. In order to show us they really care about Batman, they’re going to have to show us.
