The streaming wars have begun already and in a year full of departures, Twitch has managed to pay off some top personalities. Twitch has been forced to dip into their savings in order to keep Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, Saqib “LIRIK” Zahid and Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar. These streamers have confirmed that they will be remaining at Twitch in a year where Twitch lost arguably the biggest streamer of all time, Ninja.
The “multi-year content deals” grant these streamers millions of dollars in contracts with the Amazon-owned streaming service. The millions being paid to these streamers isn’t unheard of. Between the three of them, they have almost 10.375 million followers. These gamers pull up to tens of thousands of viewers every stream.

Talent agency Loaded, which represent the three streamers, produced another successful round of compromises. The company was involved in the Ninja switch to Mixer that caught the whole gaming and streaming community off guard. Loaded was also behind Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s move to Mixer and Jack “CourageJD” Dunlop’s move to YouTube.
Twitch accounts for about 75 percent of the streaming market while Mixer, YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming are left scraping the leftovers. This deal however is a sign that the Twitch dominance is under threat and that other streaming platforms are expanding.
