Grand Theft Auto 5 (Rockstar/Take-Two)
YouTube user Merfish, known for mashing up famous TV show’s such as Full House, Family Matters and Arthur, with the popular game, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), is back again, and this time he recreated the opening theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air using the PC version of the game’s movie editing software.
The YouTube video, titled ‘The Fresh Prince of Rockford Hills,’ starts off as the 90s hit TV sitcom normally does, with Will Smith just chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool. In the original iconic theme of Fresh Prince, the character Will gets busted by the police for spray painting graffiti on a wall, however, in the GTA V version, Will shoots at a wall with a gun instead.
At first, the mashup stays loyal to the Fresh Prince tribute, even capturing some of Will’s exact body movements and expressions. The video takes an even more violent turn in GTA V spirit when Will portrayed by one of the game’s protagonist Franklin Clinton, blows up the cab driver and Uncle Phil (the game’s Michael De Santa) with a rocket propelled grenade.
