Banjo-Kazooie join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo/Microsoft)
Microsoft announced on Wednesday that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now stream 16 classic Xbox and Xbox 360 games to Android phones and tablets at no extra charge. The included games are Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Double Dragon Neon, Fable II, Fallout: New Vegas, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, Gears of War: Judgement, Jetpac Refuelled, Kameo, Perfect Dark, Perfect Dark Zero, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Viva Pinata and Viva Pinata TIP.
While Microsoft’s phone and tablet game streaming service is still in beta, subscribers can access this treasure trove of classics at no extra charge starting today. The promotional image on the Xbox Wire shows a player with an Xbox Series controller and a smartphone “turning it into a retro handheld game system,” said Xbox Wire Editor in Chief Will Tuttle.
Playing games like Banjo-Kazooie on a portable system has been the talk of dreamers for almost two decades. As companies like Microsoft and Google invest further into cloud gaming options, the gap separating streamed games versus directly rendered ones may reach unnoticeable levels sooner rather than later.
