After only six months since Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s release, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have announced that its sequel, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3, is officially entering production.
Since Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 was released in September 2024, it has been received extremely well by the gaming community, with a current rating of 9/10 on Steam and 8/10 from IGN. This outstanding reception has encouraged Saber to develop a sequel, which they officially announced earlier this month.
Focus Entertainment’s Deputy CEO, John Bert, said, “We have been honored by the incredible response from fans following the launch of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2… Today, we are thrilled to announce that the adventure will continue with Space Marine 3.” To be clear about the game’s stage of development, it should be noted that production on this sequel has only just begun with this announcement as the CEO of Saber said, “We are now starting to develop Space Marine 3, a game that carries with it tremendous expectations from our rapidly expanding fanbase.”
The announcement promises fans that this next installment will be “an even more immersive experience, staying true to the Warhammer 40K universe, with intense, brutal, and spectacular gameplay.” Bert also commented, “Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games.”
This is all exciting stuff, but the game is certainly not coming out anytime soon. In the meantime, though, Focus and Saber have promised to continually update and expand Space Marine 2.
