After a successful trailer launch, EA has graced the fans of Battlefield once again by officially making the preload for the Battlefield 2042 beta live on all platforms. Xbox, PlayStation and PC players can fully download and install the beta. This is all ahead of its incoming launch, with two openings, the first exclusive to preorders on October 6, then a couple of days later it will open for the general public on October 8.
Fans can now begin to download the beta build by finding the Battlefield 2042 beta on their platform’s store and selecting the download button. It is a good idea to preload the game now so that players can jump right into the action as the Battlefield 2042 beta download has a size of 20GB. By doing this, players will get direct access to the build as it opens and do not have to wait for the installation to be completed.
Players will be able to test out Battlefield’s traditional objective mode, Conquest, on the new Orbital map. Orbital is characterized by a large central rocket launch site, as seen on the trailer, surrounded by both open areas for vehicular play and small, infantry-focused locations. Battlefield 2042 increases the max player count to 128, compared to previous Battlefield titles that had 32v32 servers. This means that each team will have 64 players, which is the largest number that any Battlefield has ever been. However, on last-gen consoles like the Xbox One and PS4, matches will be limited to 64 total players.
One feature that has players hyped is the new game’s plus system and vehicle drop system. This feature allows players to swap out weapon attachments in the middle of gameplay, while the other gives players the ability to airdrop vehicles to their location.
Battlefield 2042 is expected to launch on November 19, 2021 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, PS4, PS5 and PC. Battlefield 2042 preorders are available now, and preordering gives you early access to the beta from October 6-7.
