After releasing for PC and PlayStation 5 digital download on August 19, 2024, Black Myth: Wukong has been enjoyed by many gamers, yet Xbox Series X players have been forced to wait for the exciting new game to be released on the Microsoft console.
Originally, Black Myth: Wukong was supposed to release digitally on the Xbox Series X shortly alongside the release of the PC and Playstation 5 digital download of the game. However, the game’s release was delayed due to a potential quality issue, as Microsoft stated that the release would be delayed “until it meets quality standards.” Since the game was delayed, Xbox owners have been left in the dark regarding the anticipated release of this new feature, and there has been very little information to update fans on the game’s status. However, recent information may be a hopeful sign that Wukong is getting closer to the hands of Xbox players.
Earlier this month, fans waiting for the game’s Xbox Series X digital release noticed that Wukong had finally received an ESRB rating. This new ESRB rating of Teen is a positive indication that the game is on its way to Xbox players. Currently though, there is still no definite release date.
In addition to this exciting news for Wukong’s Xbox fans, Playstation 5 players have also received good news regarding the game. Currently, Wukong is only available on the PlayStation 5 via digital download. The official Black Myth X account recently announced that PlayStation fans can look forward to a physical copy of the game that will be available to players “very soon.”
There is no official release date for the game’s physical edition, but fans can preorder it today for $64.99 from most video game retailers. Along with the game’s master disc, the physical edition of Wukong will include codes for the items included in the digital deluxe edition. The items included are Bronzecloud Staff, Folk Opera Mask, Folk Opera Almsgiving Armor, Folk Opera Leather Bracers, Folk Opera Buskins, Wind Chimes and Selected Digital Soundtrack.
