‘Black Ops 6’ Cracks Down On Cheating In Season 2 Update

The second season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 just arrived on Jan. 28, and along with it came new weapons, maps, general gameplay improvements and several improvements to combat rampant cheating.

First, let’s talk about the fun new additions to the Black Ops 6 arsenal. Four new weapons come along with Season 2 including the PPSh-41 SMG, Feng 82 LMG and the Cypher 091 Assault Rifle. These three guns are all included with the Battle Pass and the fourth addition, the TR2 Marksman Rifle, is only available as an Event Reward. The battle pass also includes an underbarrel crossbow attachment and new weapon blueprints along with new operator skins.

There are also three new Multiplayer maps to look forward to. Dealership, Bounty and Lifeline are all available to play as 6v6 maps with Lifeline also available as a 2v2 map. New Multiplayer modes are also available including Overdrive and Gun Game. Zombies is also getting a new map called The Tomb along with a new Wonder Weapon, the Staff of Ice.

Some other miscellaneous updates that come along with Season 2 includes spawn logic improvements, improvements to camo challenges, weapon tuning features, a bullet penetration update, challenge tracker details, perks, field upgrades, wildcard updates, HUD present updates, Zombies bug fixes, wildcard updates, ranked play SR gain/loss adjustments and new ranked cross-play options on consoles.

Gamers will be happy to hear that along with Season 2 comes a promise of improved anti-cheat from Activision. The frustrated voices of gamers everywhere have been heard after an increase in cheating in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, especially in ranked. This anti-cheat update includes: improved detection for behaviors like aim botting, more tools to combat dishonest gaming such as spam reporting innocent players or playing with cheaters and hardware identification and more strict account trust to target consistent cheaters.

Activision also made a statement about this on their blog post saying, “We are also focusing on more precise tools, including major upgrades to the kernel-level anti-cheat driver and server-side systems starting this season and continuing into Season 3.” They also mentioned they are taking “legal actions against cheat sellers” in order to create a more enjoyable experience for the honest players out there.
