Capcom Is Delisting ‘DuckTales: Remastered’ From All Platforms

Some love digital distribution, but it certainly has its flaws. One of them is how once a game is delisted from a service, people may never be given another opportunity to purchase and play it. Several obscure games have fallen into this pitfall, but a more famous work that’s about to meet that fate is DuckTales: Remastered, Capcom‘s 2013 remake of the beloved NES classic.

Capcom made the disappointing announcement on Tuesday through a blog post. While a reason for the delisting was not cited, it can be assumed Capcom’s ability to use Disney‘s DuckTales license has expired. Gamers have until August 8 to procure a digital copy of the game, and it’s enjoying a 75 percent discount until its removal. If one already purchased Remastered, they will be able to re-download it at any time without hassle, and any hard copies of the platformer will continue to work.

According to Capcom, these are the approximent times DuckTales: Remastered will be delisted on the platforms it was released on:

  • Wii U – August 9, 4:59 PM PDT
  • PlayStation 3 – August 9, 8AM PDT
  • Xbox 360, Xbox One (via Backwards Compatibility) – August 8, 5 PM PDT
  • Steam (PC) – 4:59 PM PDT
