Capcom Releases $1500 Coat For Upcoming ‘Resident Evil’ Game

In the flurry of special editions and goodies coming out for the upcoming Resident Evil Village, Capcom is also selling a replica of character Chris Redfield’s coat for ¥159,731 or approximately $1,500. The game is not included.

On their webpage, Capcom touts the coat as being made with “top quality Melton felt.” The coat, apparently, to maintain authenticity to Redfield’s coat, has no buttons. Outside of traditional sizes, the coat also comes in a size called “original,” which is closely based on the dimensions for Redfield in the upcoming game. The original-sized coat has an almost 23 inch, or 58 centimeter shoulder width and is laughably oversized on the website’s model.

The coat is only available for shipping in Japan and is expected to be an exclusive run.

This is not the first time Capcom has released companion coats with Resident Evil games. For Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6, Capcom released similar replicas for the character Leon Kennedy and his various coats for equally exorbitant prices.
