'Control'
Remedy Entertainments’ latest game, Control, has hit a major milestone for the company. Since it was released in August 2019, Control has sold more than two million copies worldwide. The Finnish game studios has also released some pretty interesting information about Control’s sales, revealing that many of the copies purchased came from digital distribution. In 2019, about 60% of Control’s sales came from digital purchases, with the number dramatically increasing to 90% during 2020. The latter makes a lot of sense, seeing how the world is still in the midst of a global pandemic.
Remedy has noted that Control has become the company’s fastest-selling IP since the original Max Payne game released back in 2002. Along with the news of the sales about Control, Remedy briefly teased some of their upcoming projects, including Vanguard, a free-to-play live service game currently in the early stages of development.
Remedy also revealed the other game that they are developing would be in collaboration with Epic Games, the creators of Gears of War and Fortnite. Remedy says that Epic is funding that project, and it will release on consoles and PC.
Control is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Amazon Luna. Versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will arrive in early 2021.
