In Blackpool, England, one man will not be receiving the ‘Best Parent of The Year’ award, after being ticketed for allowing their 11-year-old son to drive on the public streets. This all stems from the father’s annoyance at his son, who would not stop playing Grand Theft Auto V.
The father, not the son, will be getting ticketed for “traffic offenses.” In England, the requirements for obtaining the right to drive require the driver’s age be older than 15 years and nine months. Drivers must have their provisional license as well.
Interestingly enough, if the boy and his father decided to drive on ‘private property’ or on a ‘private road,’ no tickets would have been issued. English law does not require vehicles driven solely on private lands to have insurance or a registration, nor the operator to have the proper license.
