Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows has officially released globally for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on December 4, and here is everything you need to know.
Players can purchase The Forsaken Hollows DLC separately for $15. Those who purchased the Deluxe, Seekers, or Collector’s Edition of Elden Ring Nightreign: Deluxe Edition will already have access to the DLC. Steam users will have the DLC downloaded automatically, and console users will need to manually download the DLC from their console’s store pages.
The Forsaken Hollows comes with two new types of Nightfarers, two new bosses, and a new Shifting Earth event.
First, unlock the new Nightfarers.
Players need to beat the Tricephalos boss. Afterwards, they must head to the Roundtable Hold and talk to the Iron Menial, who will have a message from the Small Jar Merchant. This will unlock the two new Nighfarers: the Scholar and the Undertaker.
The official Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe website describes the Scholar as “a trained academic, excelling in the art of spellcasting; he boasts impressive arcane knowledge and gains incredible advantages on the battlefield through keen observation.”
The Undertaker is described on the website as “driven by faith and strength; mandated by her monastery to slay the Nightlord, she is an unassuming gatekeeper to the afterlife using her uncanny strength to annihilate her enemies with ruthless efficiency.”
With the Scholar and the Undertaker now playable, the first requirement for facing the new bosses is fulfilled. The new bosses are called “Balancers” and will be completely unlocked if players have defeated at least two bosses in the base game. This can include Tricephalos.
Once these conditions are met, players must venture to the chapel that will open up behind the Small Jar Merchant. Here, they will be ready to face the Balancers and experience the Shifting Earth event, “The Great Hollows.”
If users matchmake with three players who own The Forsaken Hollows, the new DLC content will be available to appear in Deep of Night after a post-release update. This includes the Shifting Earth, raid events, and bases.
More information is available on the official Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe website.
