Everything We Know About The ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Video Game

The Marvel’s Avengers video game is set to be released later this year, and there are a lot of details that are still unknown. It appears that it will be a story-focused game, but also a co-op action based game that will have a lot of opportunities for players. Here is what else we know:

Unlike the majority of things in the last decade with the Avengers title, it appears that this game will have little to no link to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The game will start with the opening of the Avengers complex in San Francisco. Then things go south as a helicarrier crashes and spreads an infectious mist across the city, which appears to kill Captain America. This leads the remaining Avengers to go their separate ways and leads a new group known as AIM to take on that role and try to develop a cure for the mist that creates a hoard of Inhumans. One of those Inhumans is Kamala Khan (a.k.a Ms. Marvel), tries to discover the evil behind AIM and its leader, notorious Marvel villain MODOK, and get the Avengers back together.

There are various missions that players will have to complete, and they will be able to play as any of the original six Avengers (except for Hawkeye), as well as Ms. Marvel. Each hero will have their own skills and will go up against various Marvel villains including MODOK, Taskmaster and the Abomination.

It is possible that other heroes could come into the game down the road, as Ant-Man has been teased already, but that is left to be seen.
