Three weeks have passed since the latest 9.30 Fornite update, which brought back the Sniper Shootout duos, a duo game with just Snipers placed around the map. It also brought trios, meaning there can be up to three players in a squad instead of two or four. It also brought in a new item, the Chug Splash, a proximity health bomb that could give you and your team a quick heal during a battle. This week, the new 9.40 update will come on July 17 for the Xbox One, PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch iterations of Epic Games’ multiplayer hit. Downtime begins at 4 a.m. EST, per the Fornite Twitter account.
The big item coming in this update is the new Epic and Legendary Tactical Shotgun. It is a new redesign based off the original Tac Shotgun, but it was just grey, green and blue. For this Tactical Shotgun, it just comes in the Epic and Legendary varieties. It has more maximum damage but is rarer to find. It has a 83-87 maximum damage, and it’s a semi-auto firearm, shooting every 1.5 seconds. The magazine holds eight shells, and has a headshot multiplier of 2.25.
In other news, the Suppressed Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle has been removed from the battle royale to make room for the original Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle to return. The Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle comes in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants. In terms of gameplay tweaks, once the cause of an equipped weapon is set to be dropped, the overflowed weapon will be dropped. You can also automatically use a consumable if it is in your inventory and not yet maxed out. There is also a new tool and glider that have been added to those who own Save The World. You can find it in your Founder’s Pack if you own the mode.
Week 10’s challenges have players visit the new PSA signs around the maps to learn what new happenings are going on in terms the upcoming season.
