After hearing very little news about the upcoming racing game Gran Turismo 7, not many were surprised about the game’s delay into 2022.
A Sony spokesperson wrote, “GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
Sony Interactive Entertainment America CEO Jim Ryan had little to say about Gran Turismo 7‘s delay in a recent interview, simply agreeing with the Sony spokesperson saying the delay was indeed due to COVID-19.
PlayStation fans can look forward to several other games on the PS5’s release horizon including Resident Evil Village coming out May 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart coming out June 11, and Horizon Forbidden West which is still expected to release in 2021.
