LA Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger Films Cameo In ‘Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’

Cody Bellinger, outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, will have a small role in the upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. During an ESPN interview, the MLB star said that he has done motion capture, voice acting and facial modeling for Otta Sluggasson, a character that is seen throughout Valhalla’s story mode. In the interview, Bellinger said that it was “super exciting when I was doing the filming for it, and I got to swing a bat or a stick or an ax, so it was supernatural to me.”

The baseball star noted that he was very familiar with the franchise, saying that “my brother and I played Assassin’s Creed back in the day and used to love it. The graphics are so realistic. It’s a game that will take up a lot of your time.”

Recently, Ubisoft released a behind-the-scenes video showing the process of bringing Bellinger’s character to life, including him in the motion capture suit, having his face scanned, and even doing a few VO sessions. During it, Bellinger described his character as “a Dane with a knack for hitting rocks very, very far,” much like he does in real life.

Assassins’ Creed: Valhalla will release on November 10 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Google Stadia. The PS5 version will be out alongside that consoles launch on November 12.
