‘LEGO City Undercover’ Games Removed From Wii U & 3DS

The original Wii U version of LEGO City Undercover and its 3DS prequel, The Chase Begins, has been removed from the eShop of their respective platforms. First released back on March 13, 2013, LEGO City Undercover was eventually ported over to PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch in April 2017. LEGO City Undercover was met with positive reviews when it was first released, though The Chase Begins received a more mixed response.

Nintendo released a statement of the removal of these games was released last month that reads as follows:

As of December 22, 2020, the LEGO City: Undercover game for the Wii U system and the LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins game for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems will no longer be available for purchase on Nintendo eShop. LEGO City: Undercover for the Nintendo Switch system will continue to be available.

The games weren’t removed on December 22, but they have only been recently delisted from the eShop on their respective platforms. It should be noted that while the digital versions are no longer available, you’ll still be able to play these games if you have the physical copies.

The news comes only a few days after it was reported that several DSi games were removed from the 3DS eShop and that Netflix would be discontinued on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.
