When gamers now play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone, while the game loads, players will see a new message.
On Thursday, the games were updated to now feature a message regarding the Black Lives Matter movement, which has taken the country by storm in recent weeks. The message on the loading screen says “BLACK LIVES MATTER. Our community is hurting. The systemic inequalities our community experiences are once again center stage. Call of Duty and Infinity Ward stand for equality and inclusion. We stand against the racism and injustice our Black community endures. Until change happens and Black Lives Matter, we will never be the community we strive to be.”
Infinity Ward and Activision have already postponed the new season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare amid the nationwide protests. Both developers have also said that they will be cracking down on “racist or hate-oriented names” in their games by players.
