The Madden Bowl is one of the most popular sports video game tournaments every year and last week, a champion for the 2020 edition of the tournament was crowned. Raidel “Joke” Birto won $65,000, a gold championship belt, and the title of the best Madden player in the world, but he did it in an unconventional way.
Typically in football, it is suggested that a team has a balanced attack of running and passing the football on offense, or if they favor one over the other, they at least have some variety. Birto, however, won the Madden Bowl not only by never passing the football, but also not having a traditional quarterback at the position but instead having a punter be his “quarterback.”
I guess it does not necessarily matter, as Birto won the championship 17-0 as he was able to get the best talent at the other positions on his team since he didn’t go with a traditional quarterback.
