A new trailer for Mario Golf: Super Rush has been released. The trailer details the 16 playable characters, multiple game modes, and certain mechanics.
The 5-minute trailer touts features such as varied wind and terrain. Mario Golf: Super Rush will feature “simple button controls” that allow players to “easily line up impressive shots” such as “curve shots” and “spin shots.” Another feature is the “shot gauge,” with which a player can judge the trajectory of their swing. Motion controls were also announced as an option in the game. The trailer also establishes that up to four players can compete with each other simultaneously, either through online or local play.
Additionally, 16 available characters were revealed:
The game contains “a variety of courses” including traditional courses with “lush, natural scenery” along with “fantastical areas that you could only find in the world of super Mario” complete with their own “strategic challenges.”
One of the multiple game modes is “Speed golf,” where “each golfer tees off at once” and races to their balls. In this mode, players can collect pickups to rebuild their stamina. Each character will also be equipped with their own “special dash” and “special shot” in the mode. “Battle golf” pits players against each other in a battle to control the nine holes of an arena. “Golf Adventure” allows players to “level up” their golfing skills along with their unique Mii character. The trailer reveals that players will interact with various characters found in the Mushroom kingdom and even participate in Boss battles while playing the mode. There will also be a practice area, with in-game instruction for players.
Mario Golf: Super Rush is available for pre-order currently on the Nintendo eShop. The full game is set for a release on June 25, 2021 on the Nintendo switch.
