While it’s unlikely we’ll be getting a brand new Mass Effect game anytime soon, we may be getting a remastering of the Original Trilogy, first released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In a now-deleted posting from a Portuguese retailer, Gaming Replay, the site had a listing for the upcoming remastering of the first three games for 60 euros for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, and 50 euros for the Nintendo Switch version. The site claimed that the collection would be out sometime in October of this year. As of this writing, EA has not responded to these listings.
There have been whispers through the grapevine about a possible remastering of the Mass Effect Trilogy going around for the past year, with GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb saying that we could see one this October, all the way back in May. With both the PlayStation 5 presentation and Nintendo Direct Mini coming up, there’s a possibility of the Trilogy being officially announced in the coming days.
The original Mass Effect series launched back in 2007 and ended with Mass Effect 3 released in 2012. The last game in the series, Mass Effect Andromeda, was released in March 2017.
