Set to release next year in July, Marvel Studio’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot recently revealed the cast with a post on X with the characters wishing everyone well.
In the post, it is revealed that Pedro Pascal will play as the leader of the group, Reed Richards, who is also known by the superhero name “Mr. Fantastic.” We also learned that Vanessa Kirby will be playing Sue Storm who is The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn will be the Human Torch, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.
Moss-Bachrach stated that Pascal had started a group chat with everyone during his interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his show.
During the interview, it was also revealed that The Thing will be animated through motion-capture technology rather than Bachrach wearing a suit, allowing for the studio to make the interactions with the character more dynamic on the screen.
This cinematic reboot of the original comics by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee will be included in the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside an upcoming Blade reboot and two new Avengers movies.
The film will be directed by Matt Shakman who has previously directed the 2021 Disney+ exclusive show, WandaVision. It has been teased that the filming for the movie will begin in August at the Pinewood Studios in London.
As noted from some observers online, this will be the third starring role within a franchise that Pascal will be taking on this year as he will be reprising his role as Din Djarin in the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, and as Joel Miller in HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation.
Despite his busy schedule, he is excited to lead The Fantastic Four for the upcoming film.
