Star Wars creator George Lucas is going to be honored in a new six-inch figure by Hasbro.
The toy, titled “George Lucas (in Stormtrooper Disguise),” features Lucas in a full stormtrooper outfit from the original trilogy. The figure is being made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm.
Lucas parted ways with the Star Wars franchise after selling the rights to Disney in 2012, but is still remembered and loved for creating the original trilogy that started it all.
“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I have both the honor and privilege to bring characters from the franchise to life in product form every single day,” said Vickie Stratford, senior director of product design at Hasbro, in an official announcement. “When the opportunity came to design the George Lucas figure, we were especially excited for this project. This figure is just one of the many ways we can honor his legacy for years to come and we hope fans cherish it as much as we did!”
Pre-orders for the figure have already sold out on Amazon, but are still available at GameStop.
This isn’t the first time Lucas has been immortalized as an action figure, as in 2006 another Lucas stormtrooper figure was released.
