‘Poppy Playtime – Chapter 5’ Mangles Itself Into Stores Now

Mob Entertainment has released the fifth installment in its sleeper-hit saga, Poppy Playtime.

Titled “Broken Things,” this new chapter in the Poppy Playtime franchise was released alongside a launch trailer on YouTube.

The trailer opens mimicking a retro commercial for a toy called “Wrongside Outimals.” The fake commercial begins to glitch, and we are shown glimpses of what seems to be a workshop where stuffed toys and living creatures alike are being mutilated. The trailer ends with a screen displaying “Out Now” over the logos of Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Everywhere the new chapter is advertised, it is followed by its tagline: “Face off against the deadly puppetmaster behind the horrifying events of Playtime Co.”

On the Steam page and Epic Games Store page for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, the description reads:

“In the latest terrifying chapter of the Poppy Playtime saga, you are propelled further into the gruesome depths of the factory, with Playtime’s security system Huggy Wuggy in hot pursuit.

Abandoned by your only allies, your fight for survival gets all the more challenging as you race further into the abyss that is His domain.

Here, shadows whisper, and the puppet master who lords over this realm pulls the strings of madness. Can you stand against evil and finally put an end to this nightmare? Every bloody move forward will test your resolve as you uncover secrets years in the making.”

Seth Belanger, the co-founder and CCO of Mob Entertainment, said:

“One of the most rewarding parts of building this series has been watching the community engage with it; the theories, the art, the creators who’ve acted as a driving force behind it all. Chapter 5 was created with that same spirit in mind. We want players to explore, question, and draw their own conclusions. Reaching this chapter is a milestone for our team, and it wouldn’t be possible without the fans who’ve grown alongside the story. We can’t wait to see how they react.”

CEO and fellow co-founder of Mob Entertainment, Zach Belanger, explained that, “Chapter 5 represents a major step forward for Poppy Playtime. With every chapter, we’ve tried to deepen the world and raise the bar for ourselves creatively. This one pushes further into atmosphere and emotional tension, and we’re excited for players to finally experience it firsthand.”

The listed new additions in this fifth segment of the series include “stomach-churning terrors…as you uncover the dark works hidden within The Prototype’s stomping grounds”, new GrabPack functionality and tools that will help “solve devious puzzles and overcome dangerous environmental obstacles”, “tortured denizens” that make players question their trustworthiness and the audience’s learning of some of Playtime’s “gravest sins.”

In every aspect, this haunting new chapter of this global phenomenon asks its players: “Will you escape this new realm of shadows with your sanity intact, or will you succumb to the horrors within?”

Poppy Playtime – Chapter 5 is available now for PC and can be purchased on Steam and in the Epic Games Store. This DLC can only be bought with the download of the base game. Poppy Playtime – Chapter 5 will be released on console later in 2026.
