'Rainbow Six: Quarantine'
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot indicated on an earnings call with investors Monday that the delayed game Rainbow Six: Quarantine would likely undergo a name change.
An investor asked Guillemot about concerns with the upcoming project’s unfortunate name. Guillemot said, “On Rainbow Six: Quarantine, we are creating a product that is actually, as it’s named today, it is something we are evaluating and we will see what comes in the future on that product.”
On the same earnings call, Ubisoft CFO Frederick Duguet confirmed that the Far Cry 6 would still be releasing on September 30, 2021. Quarantine was also expected to launch on the same day, but the game was missing from the announcement. Duguet, not Guillemot indicated a release date for Quarantine. Ubisoft has repeatedly cited difficulties in remote working as the reason for recent game delays.
In an earlier call, Duguet explained that by delaying projects like the upcoming Far Cry and Rainbow Six games developers would be able, “to leverage their full potential in the context of production challenges caused by Covid-19”.
