Resident Evil 4 (Capcom)
Capcom had a busy day at PlayStation’s State of Play event with the release of their Street Fighter 6 trailer and the newest Resident Evil 4 remake. Fans were quick to remark on the fashion choices of the main character Leon. In the trailer, Leon can be seen wearing a rather fashionable brown bomber jacket towards the back end of the trailer. Many fans thought nothing of it until a disclaimer was displayed on the title screen.
The disclaimer read, “Leon’s brown sheepskin leather bomber jacket appears with permission from Schott NYC.” When fans head over to Schott NYC’s website you will see the jacket, marketed as a Classic B-3 Sheepskin Leather Jacket. Unfortunately for Resident Evil fans, the jacket is marketed with no direct reference to the titular franchise – and it sells for a whopping $1495, with free shipping of course.
This isn’t the first time that Leon’s fashion sense has been retailed to fans. Though Resident Evil 6 was a major disappointment for fans, Leon’s leather jacket from the game was recreated and distributed for sale by California-based shop Angel Jackets. The jacket looked similar to the one in the game and was recreated down to the lining. Angel Jackets had previously remade other jackets from other series such as Walking Dead, Wolverine, Drive and even Mad Max. The RE6 jacket’s price wasn’t nearly as high as Schott NYC’s, retailing at around $200.
Outside of Leon’s expensive fashion taste, fans are extremely excited for the remake of the classic Resident Evil Game. As shown in the trailer, the game featured settings and locations that are true to past Resident Evil games but also featured a ton of new scenery ads well. According to Capcom, this new remake would be a fresh retelling of the game while staying familiar to longtime fans. “This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics, and updating the controls to a modern standard,” Capcom said.
The game is slated to release on March 24, 2023, for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series and PC.
