Resident Evil Re:Verse was delayed yet again and will arrive in 2022, Capcom announced on July 15. The game was first intended to have a simultaneous release with Resident Evil Village as a free multiplayer companion to the game. Capcom made the announcement via Twitter.
This is the second time the title has been delayed. Capcom announced in April that the game would be delayed until the summer after it was supposed to launch with Resident Evil Village on May 7. Capcom made this decision after bugs persisted during beta tests for the multiplayer game.
“The previously announced July 2021 launch of Resident Evil Re:Verse is being moved to 2022 so that the team can continue working to deliver a smooth gameplay experience,” stated Capcom in the tweet. “We will share updated launch details at a later time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Resident Evil Re:Verse is a third-person combat game. The game will see four to six players engage in combat using characters such as Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kenney, Nemesis, Hunk, Jack Baker and others. There will also be computer-controlled adversaries from various titles in the series. The environments of the game will also draw from other games in the Resident Evil series of games. Owners of Resident Evil Village will also receive the option for a cel-shaded graphics mode free of charge.
Capcom instructed owners of physical copies of Resident Evil Villiage to redeem the code for Re:Verse or keep track of it. This will allow them to play the game whenever it is finally released.
