Yagami Takayuki will take to the streets again in Lost Judgement, the sequel to 2018’s JUDGE EYES. Sega announced the new game Friday morning when their ominous “JUDGE EYES ANNOUNCEMENT” count-down clock reached zero at 10 a.m. EST.
It’s getting freaky how lifelike Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku studio are making their in-game models. I remember being a little lad, blown away by Ryu Ga Gotoku KENZAN in the early PlayStation 3 days and that awe is only hardened by Lost Judgement coming to the PlayStaion 5; the game is also coming to PlayStation 4, but we all know the PS5 version is the one to watch for the technical spectacle.
JUDGE EYES is no doubt my favorite game in the Ryu ga Gotoku style and I don’t think that opinion is far-flung from the general consensus. Being that every game in the Gotoku series has centered on the same, undeniably hunky and charming, Kazuma Kiryu, Yamgami’s tale explored with the gamestyle in new, creative ways.
While Kazuma fights for his honor as a well-known yakuza tough-guy, Yagami’s legal background and different fighting style led to a story I consider far superior to the already fabulous mainline games.
Sega announced that in addition to Yagami’s two fighting styles from JUDGE EYES, the high-kick gumshoe will have a new style in Lost Judgement called “Snake” where players can more easily disarm enemies with guns or bats. “Snake” also can be used in fights where Yagami ought not rough up his opponent.
Legal warriors, bear your gauntlets for September 24, 2021 when Lost Judgement releases worldwide on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
