Mike Bithell, the mind behind Thomas Was Alone and John Wick Hex, has announced his next game from his studio, Bithell Games. Titled The Solitary Conspiracy, the game will launch on October 6. Announced on his Twitter account, The Solitary Conspiracy will feature a new take on the classic solitary game you’ve come to know.
“As longtime players of our nonsense will know, we tend to mix things up between our larger projects with ‘Shorts,’ more experimental games that explore side ideas or genres that we don’t get to play within the likes of Volume or John Wick,” tweeted Bithell. “‘ Til now, we’ve surprise launched ’em, out of nowhere. This is fun, but, you know, 2020, and it feels like we probably need to spend a bit more time building up some interest and, crucially, wishlists and follows, to give our next Short a fighting chance.”
The game will feature time attack and skirmish modes, but will also contain a story campaign. The storyline will be told primarily through FMV cutscenes and feature FunnyOrDie host and founder, Greg Miller, as a spy agency analyst called Jim Ratio. Joining Miller will be comedian Inel Tomlinson as Diamond.
Currently, the game will launch on Steam and the Epic Games store. No word on when it will be ported to consoles.
