Thomas ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto, 25, announced through Twitter that he will be stepping down from his competitive Call of Duty team, the New York Subliners, “for the foreseeable future.”
Paparatto talks about stress and anxiety after coming back from a thumb and wrist surgery years before. Unfortunately, the COD player’s pain returned and he determined that for his health, he will be stepping down from his position.
Paparatto has an almost decade-long history of professional Call of Duty beginning in 2013 as an independent. He was then picked up by FaZe Clan in 2015. Since he began, Paparatto has won “numerous championships” according to the New York Subliners’ website.
The player’s team posted a farewell and thank you message to Twitter soon after Paparatto’s official resignation.
Neither Papratto nor his team have ruled out his eventual return to Esports. In his resignation letter, Paparatto hinted, “I’m not sure what the future holds and will explore all options as I love this game too much to walk away completely. I look at it as one door closing and another one opening.”
