The Star Wars franchise is one of the most popular in history. For the most part, the Star Wars series of video games have been well received. For fans of Star Wars games, EA announced a new game from the galaxy far far away.

In a video trailer that was released on Monday, EA’s newest Star Wars game, Star Wars: Squadrons was revealed to players for the first time. This will be a first-person combat game where players will have the opportunity to fly in numerous ships throughout the franchise in either a single player, or multiplayer mode.

On June 18, EA will be revealing gameplay of Star Wars: Squadrons during their EA Play Live event. One of the modes of note that EA has highlighted is a multiplayer mode called Fleet Battles. In this mode, players will work together in a more dogfight game mode.

Players will also have the opportunity to choose if they want to play for the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, and get to fly corresponding ships of the side they choose.

More details will come out out until the game is released on October 2, which will be available for $39.99 on Xbox One, PS4, PC and VR headsets.
